One of the many things I love in this world, its a good meal with good friends.
With two of our good friends just returning from travelling in Asia (you can read all about their wedding here) we decided to organise a good chin wag over some really good food. We only had one choice, The Ox Club.
I have been to The Ox Club for brunch many times before but never for dinner. I would described as fine dining with a Yorkshire twist after tasting it’s food- the place certainly lived up to the hype.
To say we order a feast is an understatement. We ordered three courses and a bottle (or two) of wine for the girls while the boys enjoyed local beers.
Its hard to recommend some of the dishes as they were the specials. But I can confirm the food was 100% tasty; the scollops were cooked just perfectly and the dairy cow beef we had was melt in your mouth delicious!
Lee has been to The Ox Club in the evening before and he can recommend a few of the dishes on the menu. The ox cheek is a dish that you should try at least once when you come here (his words) and he has also advised the Lamb is absolutely delicious.
I love the atmosphere here, very private but with something going on in the background without intruding into your meal. The staff are so knowledgable on the food and where it has come from, including what to pair drinks wise with your food.
If you need somewhere to take family and friends for a good meal, or just need a date night idea- I don’t think you can go wrong with The Ox Club.
