Gin is one of my favourite drinks, so when I was invited to try the latest addition to The Hedonist Project, I jumped at the chance!
As I have previously written about on the blog, The Hedonist Project is a pop up, revolving bar that changes persona every couple of months. This Spring, the space has turned into Old Tom's Gin Kitchen, dedicated to all things to do with gin.
The change is the perfect fit for Spring/ Summer. The space itself feels lighter and brighter, the cocktails are refreshing and even the food menu has been updated for the season.
My favourite cocktail was was the Vera Lynn, it was a strawberry delight. I think that what impressed me the most was the food menu, it is not too expensive (prices between £4.00- £10.00) and it is all fresh and delicious. My favourite choices are braised Featherblade of beef: slow cooked in red wine, served with Lyonnais potatoes, confit onion, silver skin onion and lardons; as well as the smashed avocado on wholemeal bread topped with a poached egg.
The bar is only around for a few months so make sure you get down there as soon as you can to not miss out on the action!
