Wine Tasting At Veeno


I love a good wine tasting, so when Veeno invited me to come and try a selection of their best wines- I just couldn't resist. 





Veeno was one of the first events I have ever been invited to through the blog so it was a little nostalgic to go back to another wine tasking event. This time instead of going on my own (I was unaware plus ones were a thing) I took my lovely friend Becca to join in the fun. 

We were given five different wines to try, along with a huge board of antipasti to see what wine we would pair with what. Antipasti is one of my favourite types of meals to make/ have (you can't really make it can you) so Becca and I were in a happy place. 










First was the two whites; first a 'House White Dry' Tasari made with Cataratto grapes, then 'The Fruitiest' Giumara made with Inzolia grapes. Both are great paired with olives and bruschetta with olive pate. 

We then moved onto the three reds; 'The Smoothest' Giumara made with Frappato & Nerello grapes, 'The Classic' Giumara made with nero d'Avola grapes (perfect with the Parma ham slices) and finally 'The Elegant' Cusora with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. My favourites were the fruity white one and my number one choice was 'The Classic' red. 

We finally finished off the evening with a shot of Marsala Superiore Riserva, a sweet desert wine that goes great with Tiramisu.

It was a great end to a great evening and really educational in finding out more about the wine. I also got to learn more about the wine tasting experience nights that Veeno is offering.You get your own wine tasting passport and receive a stamp every time you go; winning glasses and bottles of wine as you go along. 

It was a very grown up evening but one I enjoyed immensely.
