I have turned down a few opportunities to do sponsored post, but when somebody says 'would you like to do a few post for us and we will provide you with free breakfast?' Well you just cannot say no to that!!!
I was lucky that the lovely people at Flahavan's asked me to be a breakfast ambassador. my challenged? To lift the idea of porridge being a 'boring' breakfast, and to create a three part series of exciting breakfast's to really sink your teeth into.
This is perfect for me, as I am one of those who doesn't always get on with porridge and tend to only eat it when I need warming up on a cold winter's day. However, I am on a health kick (or a health hop at the moment- I am getting there!) so it's time to embrace the oats...
And who can resist Irish Organic Oats? I was lucky enough to receive their jumbo oats, bigger in size, bigger in flavour! The great thing is how accessible the oats are- once my freebie runs out, I know that I can pick up another supply of it from Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsburys and Ocado.
Today's creation is one for the foodies who love to Instagram (aka me). Full of ingredients packed with energy to get you going for the day! Plus it is super quick and easy to do, you will have no excuse not to try it!
- 2/3 Cup of Flahavan's Jumbo Oats
- 1 Banana
- Handful of raspberries
- Sprinkle of cocoa nibs
- 1 Spoonful of peanut butter
- 2/3 Cup of boiling water
- 1/3 Cup of soy milk
- Place the oats into a saucepan with the boiling water, stir together and then let it sit with a lid on for 10 minutes (off the heat).
- Once the oats have soaked and are nice and soft, place the pan onto the hob and heat up with the soy milk for 3- 4 minutes stirring often.
- Once cooked, serve in your favorite bowl, with the peanut butter swirled in and your toppings sprinkled on top.
I feel totally like Goldilocks here!! You can check out my other two recipes here and here (links will be added once the posts go live) Tune into the blog in the upcoming weeks for upcoming posts.
I also challenge you guys to create your perfect porridge. Get creative (remember to pick up a pack of Flahavan's oats to make it extra special!) and don't forget to add the hashtag #perfectporridge so that we will be able to find them!
What's your morning porridge fix?
