DIY: How To Patchwork

I love to sew (and should be good at it, considering I have been studying it since I was 13...). At the current moment I am playing with making a throw for my sister and decided this would be a good change to bring this craft to the blog as a good DIY post to show you the basics.

The Quick and Easy Lunch Series: Halloumi, Tomato and Pine Nut Salad

I have recently been struggling to come up with lunches that are tummy filling but not boring and figured I could not be the only person with this issue. And thus, The Quick and Easy Lunch Series was born....

Without this being too risque, I have always wanted to do a post on the rules of underwear- wearing.

Fuji Hiro Leeds

I had a craving for Ramen this weekend.

I begged and begged my man to go out for dinner this weekend. He took me to a little place in Leeds City Centre, that is meant to be a local legacy.

The Christening of a Lion

It was such a lovely day for a Christening, and it all started with breakfast in the sunshine. Wrapped up in my new blankigan (look it up, it's totally a thing) we sat in the basking sun with a slight cool breeze. Whilst the rest of the family snacked on freshly baked goods, I went for an oldie but goodie....

7 August 2014

Apologies for no post today, I was working on a lovely one last night when suddenly my entire apartment building was evacuated due to the fire alarm going off.

Turns out someone set it off as a drunken mistake, which is so not cool. We were all let stood outside in our PJ's having to get to know each other in the most awkward way possible. I was in an old t- shirt, a pair of short shorts and a coat on top. So, so not cool.

A lesson to learn for everyone out there, never set a fire alarm off unless it is a fire emergency. It causes valuable resource to come out when they do not need to (thus potentially taking them away from an actual emergency) and makes lifestyle bloggers incredibly cranky due to the lack of sleep.

The most ironic thing is I had to be up early to take part in training at work on how to motivate people. Well, this is going to be fun on only 4 hours of sleep......

Not to worry, I have coffee on stat, and have even had a cold shower to see if that brings me back to life and into the living, awake world.

Hope your day is going more successful than mine is.

Broccoli And Peanut Butter Soup

Now, don't just skip this post just yet!

I know this sounds like a disgusting idea, but trust me this is actually nice! I mean, eating squid sounds strange but that is actually nice. So is mushrooms for some (though personally, I think you are nuts for liking a fungus if you do eat them. Just eww.)

Travelling Home and Celebrations

I headed back home to Lincoln for two days the weekend just gone. I was heading back to celebrate my mum's birthday and I was also my sisters plus one as she was asked to be a Godmother for her friend's new born baby at his Christening.

4 August 2014

100 years ago today marks the day that Britain agreed to go to war against Germany.

The war lasted 4 years, 3 months and 1 week.

Across Europe, people have joined in with a a ceremonial blackout as a mark of respect towards this event. Because without the brave across the world who laid down their lives for our freedom, we would not have the same world that we live in today.

"The lamps are going out all over Europe; we shall not see them lit again in our lifetime."
Sir Edward Grey

Keeping Organised With Your Blog

Since my promotion, I find it hard to keep on top of my blog and getting good posts out every week day. I know I shouldn't, this is meant to be a hobby after all, but this blog is my baby and I love nurturing it and seeing it grow every single day.
